Joe Buehrle, Advisory Board Secretary

Joe Buehrle currently serves on the staff of the San Diego Association of Nonprofits. He relocated from Michigan in the fall of 2008, bringing over ten years of experience in the nonprofit sector. His career includes positions in workforce development, child welfare,
mental health, and grassroots community organizing. Joe is particularly passionate about multicultural, interfaith, and inter-group relations.

Joe received a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan with a minor in Management. There as a Community Based Initiative Fellow he concentrated his study on “communities and social systems” while serving as a community organizer at low income housing in urban Detroit. Published work includes the article “Just Us” or Justice,
shared in the Commission for Social Justice Educators June 2008 newsletter The Voice.
